Get to Know Me: My Dog

This is the first of a handful of these I'll be doing, just little posts about things that will help you to get to know me a bit better...

When I was 10 I ran a campaign. I had Powerpoints, posters, Post-it notes and poems dotted around the house. I used an empty Vogels bag stuffed with fabric scraps, tied a piece of string around it and pretended it was a dog - walking it, feeding it - to prove I was up to the task of looking after a real one.

When I put my mind to something, I go all the way.

And six weeks later, probably more due to my parents getting sick of my campaigining than my haikus about how dogs make you happy, I got a puppy.

After much debate, he was named Cola (as in Coke-a-Cola), by my sister, so named for his dark coat. I wanted to call him Harvard so he'd be smart.

This pup (because no matter how old they are they will always be your puppy) is the glue of our family.

Shake it off, Cola.

Shake it off, Cola.
